The COVID-19 pandemic may have thrown a wrench into plans throughout Colorado this holiday season, but the good news is, some of your favorite Donate Life-themed holiday events are still on!

Though they’ll look a bit different this year, holiday events are moving forward throughout our area with safety being the top priority. We’re breaking down WHAT events are still on and HOW you can safely get involved and celebrate the gift of life with us this holiday season.

Upcoming Donate Life Colorado Holiday Events

Denver – 9News Parade of Lights/Winter in the City:
Friday, 11/27/20 – Thursday, 12/31/20

Parade of Lights DenverDubbed ‘Winter in the City’ this year, the 9News Parade of Lights will feature stationary floats located throughout Downtown Denver for a three-week long event. The public can walk by to view the different stations and floats safely on their own.

Our Donate Life Colorado station will feature a life-size gift box modeled after our #GiftofLife Balloon! Walk through the special gift box and read all of the ways people in our community have been touched by the #GiftofLife. Have a connection to donation and transplantation? Share your #GiftofLife story or message online. The stories will be printed and hung up inside the box in downtown Denver for all to see.

If you visit our special station, snap a picture and share it on social media, tagging Donate Life Colorado with the #GiftofLife.

Colorado Springs – Festival of Lights:
Saturday, 12/5/20

This year’s Festival of Lights event will be a stationary parade that will allow the public to drive through the amazing lighted floats from the safety and warmth of their own cars! This special one-day event will be held safely and socially-distanced at The Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs! This year’s theme, Through the Eyes of a Child, guarantees a trip down memory lane for all of us.

Our special Donate Life Colorado float will be among the lighted float lineup, displaying beautiful donate life-themed trees, a gift of life ‘Dear Santa’ list and more! Be sure to wave to the volunteers at the station as you drive by! Those volunteers are part of our Advocate for Life program and have all been impacted by the gift of life through organ, eye and tissue donation in some way.

Rose-Parade-ThumbnailTelevised – Tournament of Roses Bloomfest
Friday, 1/1/21

This year, in place of the iconic 2021 Tournament of Roses Rose Parade® on New Year’s Day, will be the socially-distanced and newly-created Bloomfest event.

Original floral portraits of two local donors (TBA) will be featured in the official floral celebration in Pasadena, California. The floragraphs will be two of more than 20 portraits made from organic materials in memory of organ, eye and tissue donors from across the United States.

Tune in from the comfort of your own home on January 1, 2021 as the Tournament of Roses Association will host a two-hour telecast of entertainment programming delivering a celebratory and hopeful experience to enrich the lives of the community.
